DESCRIPTION OF IIC TIMELOCK CASH CONTAINERS (TLCC)

General

A Timelock Cash Container (TLCC) is a metal container with an aperture for depositing cash. A door, fitted with a time lock, allows cash to be withdrawn. The time lock prevents the door being opened by the user or any other person until a predetermined time has elapsed. It is designed to make robbery more difficult.

IIC has a Period Contract to sell TLCC to Australia Post. The TLCC described were designed by IIC to meet Australia Post requirements.

Construction

The Type 1 TLCC is 235mm wide, 300mm high, and 200mm front to back.

The Type 2 TLCC is designed to fit into a pigeon hole behind the new Australia Post standard counter. It is 140mm wide, 287mm high, and 300mm front to back. It has flanges to locate the TLCC against the face of the pigeon hole.

A currency note container fitted with a hinged lid is provided with the Type 2 TLCC.

The notes aperture on both types of TLCC is fitted with an upward sloping internal baffle on the lower lip. The upper edge of the baffle is serrated to stop the removal of the container contents.stop the removal of the container contents.stop the removal of the container contents.

Bolt holes are provided in the floor of each type of container to allow them to be attached by coach bolts (nuts inside the containers).

Door Design

The Type 1 TLCC has a removable swing door that is set back 15mm to minimise protrusion of the lock. Close attention is paid to fit of the door to ensure that no tools can be inserted between the container and the door.

The door of the Type 2 TLCC is set back 22mm from the front face of the container. The door hinges/linkages are arranged to allow the door to drop down to expose the interior and allow removal of the notes container. When open, it protrudes as little as possible to avoid injury to personnel who might be passing. The door hinges/linkages are arranged to allow the door to drop down to expose the interior and allow removal of the notes container. Finish

TLCCs are powder coated Australia Post Office Grey (Paint Code 32786).

Electronic Lock

The TLCC is fitted with a Kaba Mas Model T52B battery operated electronic lock. The lock can be pre-set with a time delay of up to 99 minutes.

The lock is fitted with a spring bolt that extends when the dial is released by the User. The door then automatically locks when it is closed.

Battery

The lock uses a 9 volt alkaline battery that is located on the right side of the vertical lock front. Low power requirements give an exceptionally long battery life. The battery is user replaceable.

Instructions

Installation and User Instructions are shipped with each container

IIC Services

Management

IIC is accredited to ISO 9001:2008. Accordingly, it has formal procedures in place which cover all aspects of TLCC production and administration.

IIC pre-programs the locks to meet User requirements. A Serial Number Register that matches lock and TLCC Serial Numbers is maintained by IIC. Information in the Register enables a lock to be restored to use if the combination is unknown.

Repairs

IIC can supply a new door fitted with a pre-programmed lock at short notice, and can arrange repair of containers.

Distribution and Storage

Orders for small numbers of TLCC are distributed from IIC’s premises in Mitchell, ACT. Bulk orders (for 50 or more TLCC) are dispatched from the premises of the container manufacturer when assembled. The lead time for dispatch of bulk orders from Canberra is presently 5 weeks ARO.

A packaged Type 1 TLCC weighs 10 kg, while a packaged Type 2 TLCC weighs 6.5 kg.

Warranty

IIC provides full warranty service for the containers and the locks. In order to maintain containers in service in the unlikely event of lock failure, the containers are designed with removable and interchangeable doors.

The warranty period is 24 months from the date of the invoice for the container.
